Getting started
A focused, evidence-based way to study a language at your own pace. Here's how to begin.
1. Create an account
You'll need an account to save your progress. Registration asks for a username and an email address, and you'll confirm your email before you start. If you're joining a private build, you may also enter an invitation code.
2. Choose a language
Pick the language you want to study from the selector in the header. You can switch at any time — Tollamus keeps your progress in each language separate, so studying one never disturbs another.
3. Press Continue
Your dashboard has one main button: Continue. Tollamus works out the most useful next step for you — the next lesson, a short review, or picking up exactly where you left off — and tells you why in a line above the button. You never have to plan your own path; following Continue is enough.
4. Courses and chapters
If you'd rather browse, open Courses. Each course is made of chapters that introduce vocabulary and grammar and then let you practise them. Some courses or chapters are free; others are marked premium or licensed and open up with the right plan or enrolment.
5. Make it comfortable
The Accessibility control in the header turns on larger text, higher contrast, a simpler layout, and steady (non-timed) pacing. Tollamus is built to be used by keyboard alone and with a screen reader, and it respects your system's reduced-motion setting.
